Career Description

Carpenters construct and repair building structures that are made out of wood, such as, rafters, stairways, and doorframes. Carpenters are not limited to only this however, they are the one of the most versatile construction operators and have a multiple options available to them.There are three main types of carpentry: Residential, commercial, and industrial carpenters.

Educational Requirements

The educational requirements for carpenters is simply a high school diploma or equivalent, however, many technical schools offer carpentry classes. Besides that, the worker must be at least 18 and need to be physically able to do the work.

Work Enviroment

The carpenters enviroment is various and changes often depending on what type of carpenter it is. Examples of enviroments can range from residential houses to mines and tunnels.

Salary

Carpenters salary are based on the carpenters experiance and the types of jobs done. The average pay of a carpenter is $19.00 per hour and $39,530 per year.
